Quad County Corn Processors (Galva, Iowa), a cooperative owned by 415 farmers will soon complete construction of a $20 million grassroot ethanol plant in Ida County near Galva, Iowa. Construction began on the project in November 2000. Quad County Corn Processors used Gaylor Engineering (Dunedin, FL) to provide engineering and procurement services. North Central Construction (Fargo, ND) is currently performing construction services for the new plant.
The plant will produce 18 million gallons per year of ethanol and 100,000 tons per year of distillers dried grain with solubles (DDGS) using approximately 7 million bushels per year of corn as a feedstock. The plant is expected to create 30 new jobs when it becomes operational in December 2001.
