Quality Fabricated Structural Steel, a Topic of Industry Today Featuring Qualico Steel Company Incorporated

Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources; Houston, Texas) will host Qualico Steel Company, Incorporated (Webb, Alabama) as its special guest on the live national radio broadcast of Industry Today airing November 17th, 2003 on Industrialinfo.com Radio. This special segment of Industry Today will cover Qualico's ability to fabricate quality structural steel products including steel trusses, plate girders, built-up columns and much more.

Qualico's primary plant is located in Webb and covers nearly 600,000 square feet of production area with eleven (11) production bays and 160,000 square feet of enclosed space for high performance coating. Some of this site's capabilities include AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) certification, blasting and preparation plus paint facilities. All this combined has enabled Qualico the ability to provide quality products, with dependable deliveries at affordable costs.

Since Qualico was founded in 1976, and under the leadership of CEO, John Downs, Qualico has expanded its offerings to include additional services now provided by several subsidiary companies including in part QSI Fabricators, QMI, and Covenant Steel Warehouse. Combining all of the subsidiaries, Qualico operates twenty-seven (27) production bays with CNC machines, engineering services and sales staff across the country.

Producers of structural steel and steel products were plagued by a sluggish economy over the past several years similar to many other industry segments. Industrialinfo.com's 2004 Global Industry Outlook forecast over $192 billion in industrial capital spending planned for the United States during 2004, representing a small increase in spending over 2003. This paints a bright picture for this industry segment where grassroot construction and major plant expansions equal the largest opportunities for growth.
