BP (NYSE:BP) (Houston, Texas) is planning to construct a full-scale ethylbenzene-styrene monomer unit at its Texas City, Texas plant. S&B Engineers and Constructors (Houston, Texas) provided feasibility and evaluation studies for the new unit and was also selected to perform the engineering and construction effort.
Other project activity at the BP Texas City site includes the installation of a new SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) unit addition that was built to help comply with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) environmental mandates for NOx reductions. Jacobs Engineering Group Incorporated (NYSE:JEC)(Pasadena, California) is providing engineering and construction services and should have that project complete by the end of the year.
