Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held snack food producer, Snyder's of Hanover Incorporated (Hanover, Pennsylvania) is planning an expansion of their pretzel bakery in Hanover.
Under the direction of construction management firm George M. Wildasin CE Incorporated (Abbottstown, Pennsylvania), the company has narrowed its search for a general contractor and a contractor selection is scheduled during the first week of June 2003.
Once a firm is selected, pre-construction engineering and planning activities will take about 30 days to hammer out and construction of the building will begin around the first of July.
Snyder's will construct an 80,000 square foot building addition to their manufacturing plant located at 1250 York Street in Hanover, and install a new production line along with additional warehouse area and office space.
Completion is expected by the end of the year.
The project represents about a $6 million investment and marks the fourth expansion at the site since 1989.
The company was originally founded in 1909 as the Hanover Pretzel Company and was bought by Hanover Foods in 1963 and in 1981, Snyder's declared its independence from Hanover Foods Corporation. Since then, Snyder's of Hanover has continued its pretzel bakery tradition with the original recipes that made them successful.
