Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). A private family-owned start-up baking company, Tres Caballeros Company (Nederland, Texas), is planning to construct a new $2 million, 33,000 square foot bakery in Port Arthur, Texas.
The company is still waiting for final numbers on construction costs for the building and plans to move forward with building activities by October of this year.
A 40-foot long tunnel oven has been purchased and is waiting in storage along with other baking and packaging equipment that will be installed once the new building is completed sometime in December.
Tres Caballeros plans to be producing empanadas and other Mexican pastries by January of 2003. The products will be shipped from the Port Arthur location to supermarkets in the U.S. and possibly Mexico.
The bakery will employ about 90 people and the company has also received state franchise tax and sales rebates and a loan from the Port Arthur Economic Development Corp.
