Researched by Industrial Info Resources India (Delhi, India)--Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (TAKREER) (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) will soon begin construction of an inter-refinery pipeline (IRP-2) to transport the crude oil, refined products, intermediate products and end products including gasoil, unleaded gasoline 91, unleaded gasoline 95, unleaded gasoline 98 and jet A1 between the Ruwais refinery , Abu Dhabi refinery, the Al-ain storage terminal, Mussafah terminal and the Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The IRP-2 expansion project, which will have a total length of 955 kilometers and a diameter ranging from 10 inches up to 28 inches will transport the products between the refineries and storage terminals in Abu Dhabi. The pipeline will be capable of covering the future increase in demand for refined petroleum products due to infrastructure development. The approved cost of the project is approximately $700 million. The project is scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2014.
The project also involves the construction and expansion of refined products storage terminals. Expansion projects cover the Mussafah Petroleum storage terminals with a storage capacity of 56,000 cubic meters and the Al-Ain Petroleum terminals, with a storage capacity of 5,000-8,500 cubic meters.
TAKREER has awarded Technip (PINK:TKPPY) the front-end engineering and design (FEED), with Tebodin Middle East Limited (TME) act as a project management consultants (PMC), and GS Engineering & Construction Company (SEO:006360) (Seoul) acting as the engineering, procurement and construction company.
