The following is an advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Chevron has opened the contract tendering for the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a gas-to-liquids plant at Escravos in Nigeria. The process is currently at the pre-qualifying stage with the final award being made in the third quarter of 2002.
The plant construction will be a joint venture between Chevron and NNPC. 34 000 barrels per day of liquids will be produced from a throughput of 8.5m cubic meters of gas per day. The Sasol slurry-phase distillate process and Chevron's hydroprocessing technology will be used to produce mainly diesel and naphtha when the plant comes on line in the second quarter of 2005.
