Privately held, refrigerated storage and distribution company, United States Cold Storage (Cherry Hill, New Jersey) is planning to double the size of their cold storage and distribution facility in Minooka, Illinois.
To meet the growing demand for refrigerated storage, the company will add approximately 80,000 square feet of storage area to the existing building making it one of the largest facilities in U.S. Cold Storages portfolio.
Site preparation and dirt work activities are currently underway at the site located at 601 Twin Rail Drive in Minooka about 45 miles southwest of Chicago.
The company selected cold storage specialist United Insulated Structures Corporation (Berkeley, Illinois) as the general contractor for this estimated $5 million project and construction is expected to take about seven months to complete.
United States Cold Storage, Incorporated has been providing refrigerated storage services to the food industry since 1889. They are a national public refrigerated warehouse operator with a network of 21 facilities across the United States comprising over 110 million cubic feet. The company serves a customer base with requirements ranging from primary storage to fully integrated third party logistic solutions for a complete range of perishable food products.
