Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--As one of the nation's top general contractors, DPR Construction (Redwood City, California) is responsible for large projects throughout the U.S., especially in the data center and Pharmaceutical-Biotech sectors. Industrial Info is tracking more than $2.6 billion worth of projects in which DPR has a hand.

The largest share of DPR's projects, both in number and project value, are occurring in the company's home state of California. Among the largest of these is a data center on a brownfield site in San Francisco for Fifteenfortyseven Critical Systems Realty LLC (Matawan, New Jersey). The project entails demolishing an existing 90,400-square foot building and constructing a two-story, 187,000-square-foot data center featuring two 12-megawatt power feeds and 15 fiber networks. In addition, two other existing buildings are being renovated to provide 56,000 square feet of office and mechanical equipment space. The project kicked off in the first half of 2018 and is expected to be completed later this year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Also in San Francisco, DPR is at work on a project in its other area of expertise: the life sciences sector. The University of California San Francisco is constructing a neurosciences research building addition on its Mission Bay campus. The facility is being built on a former parking lot site and entails the construction of a six-story, 274,000-square-foot building featuring 50,000 square feet of wet lab space and a 16,000-square-foot vivarium to expand basic, clinical and translational neuroscience research. The project is expected to wrap up soon. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

DPR also is at work on several projects in the Mid-Atlantic market region. Among the largest of these is a data center expansion project for Facebook Incorporated (NASDAQ:FB) (Menlo Park, California) at its campus in Sandston, Virginia, on the eastern outskirts of Richmond. Phase II of the expansion kicked off in 2018, followed by phases III and IV in 2019. Each phase includes an approximately 500,000-square-foot data hall building with supporting equipment and systems to provide increased colocation services. Phase II is expected to be completed later this year, followed by Phase III in 2021 and Phase IV in 2023. The projects have a combined total investment value of $660 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV.

DPR is at work on several projects in North Carolina, including a science research complex addition for North Carolina State University in Raleigh. A 200,000-square-foot building will be constructed to house interdisciplinary plant-based research. The facility will include research labs, biosafety-level 2 and 3 greenhouses, office space and corporate lab/office suites. Construction kicked off last summer and is expected to be completed in the second half of next year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

In Sanford, North Carolina, DPR is underway with "Project Jupiter," a neuromuscular viral gene therapeutics plant for Astellas Pharma Incorporated (Tokyo, Japan), which entails building out and equipping an approximately 135,000-square-foot building for gene therapies targeting neuromuscular diseases. Construction kicked off earlier this summer and is expected to be completed in late summer 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
