Gray is involved in some automotive projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Among these is BMW AG's (Munich, Germany) grassroot engine and transmission plant at the company's site in Greer, South Carolina. The plant is currently 1.5 million square feet and manufactures 300,000 units per year. Gray will construct a 400,000-square-foot building expansion, with production equipment for internal combustion engines, hybrid and fully electric drive trains, and motors for the North American market. Construction on the $300 million project is expected to begin soon, with completion set for the first half of 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Among the largest projects Gray is at work on is a grassroot tissue mill in Inola, Oklahoma, for Sofidel SpA. (Porcari, Italy). The plant will produce paper towels, tissues and napkins. Gray is providing engineering and construction services on the project, which began last year, and W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company (Birmingham, Alabama) is a contractor. The plant is expected to be completed this quarter. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Gray is involved in a couple of cannabis production projects in its home state of Kentucky. In Paris, Kentucky, AgTech Scientific LLC (Lexington) plans to next year begin construction on a cannabis cultivation greenhouse of up to 1.5 million square feet to meet requirements for cannabidiol-based products, including gelcaps, gummies and oils. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report. Gray also is underway with an expansion of AgTech's existing facility in Paris. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Gray also is underway with several projects in the Food & Beverage sector, including a grassroot poultry processing plant for Tyson Foods Incorporated (NYSE:TSN) (Springdale, Arkansas) in Humboldt, Tennessee, between Memphis and Nashville. The 250,000-square-foot facility will be able to process 1.25 million birds per week. Construction began earlier this year and is expected to be completed in late 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.

Gray also has a hand in several warehousing and distribution center projects. In Houston, Texas, Gray is underway with design-build services for a grassroot distribution center for Ikea North America (Conshohocken, Pennsylvania). The facility will be an estimated 1.2 million to 1.5 million square feet and will support regional warehouse operations. The project is expected to kick off early next year and be completed in first-quarter 2021. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
