The following is an advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Inc.; Houston Texas). Washington Group International (NYSE: WNG) (Boise, Idaho), an engineering & construction company, is nearing completion of a $400 million 830 mega-watt (MW) natural gas-fired combined-cycle merchant power plant for AES Red Oak, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Private Energy Producer (PEP) AES Corporation (Nasdaq: AESCW) (Arlington, Va.). The plant is located in Sayerville, New Jersey in Middlesex county.
The plant will utilize three Siemens Westinghouse 501F-D2 combustion turbine/generator sets, with three Foster Wheeler heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) and one steam turbine/generator. The plant will utilize Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units will be used for NOx reduction and CO oxidation.
The Washington Group is in the final stages of mechanical construction and is starting the commissioning phase the power plant. They are on schedule to be complete and operating with power to the grid by the end of February 2002.
