Atlas Pipeline Partners Readies Cryogenic Gas Processing Plant for Start-Up

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Atlas Pipeline Partners LP (NYSE:APL) (Moon Township, Pennsylvania) is preparing to start-up the new 9-Mile cryogenic gas processing plant located near Leedey, Oklahoma, in Dewey County. The single train 120 million-cubic-foot-per-day plant will contact production between the company's Elk City/Sweetwater and Chaney Dell gas-production systems and will process overflow gas from neighboring systems.

The estimated $90 million plant utilizes Thomas Russell Company (Tulsa, Oklahoma) process technology, and the production modules were fabricated at the company's shop and shipped to the plant location. Thomas Russell also acted as the construction coordinator for the project.

The plant has two 5,000-horsepower Toshiba motors tied to Ariel compressor packages, along with a filtering system, dehydration system, pipeline pumps and storage tanks. The plant is adjacent to a recently completed 110-mile pipeline.

Construction began around mid-2008 on a fast track installation schedule.

Atlas Pipeline Partners LP (APL) is a publicly traded, energy master limited partnership engaged in the transmission, gathering, and processing of natural gas in the mid-continental United States and the Appalachian Basin. APL was formed in August 1999 and completed its initial public offering in February 2000. In Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Texas, APL owns and operates 7,900 miles of active gathering pipeline, eight natural gas processing plants and one treatment facility. APL also owns and operates 565 miles of FERC-regulated interstate pipeline running from Oklahoma to Missouri.
