Auto Parts Company Under Way With Expansion at Kentucky Plant

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--NHK of America Suspension Components Incorporated (NASCO) (Bowling Green, Kentucky) is under way on a $20 million expansion of the company's manufacturing plant in Bowling Green. The expansion will allow the company to make components of electric motors for hybrid and electric cars.
Site preparation began this month, and construction is anticipated to begin in March on a 52,000-square-foot building addition adjacent to the existing 348,000-square-foot plant. Completion of the expansion is expected by October of this year.
Full production is expected to begin by November. Approximately 108 new jobs are expected to be created once the facility is fully operational, adding to the existing 210 employees. The plant operates five hot wound coil suspension spring lines, two material turning lines, two cold drawing lines, and truck lid torsion bar production.
Scott, Murphy & Daniel LLC (Bowling Green) will provide general construction services for the expansion.
