Bredero Price Plans to Spend Another $20 million for Expansion at New Pipe Coatings Plant in Alabama

Industrial Information Resources Incorporated (IIR) confirms construction has been hot and heavy at the recently opened plant of the Bredero Price Company in Theodore, Ala. Bredero Price has spent in excess of $45 million so far on five different pipe-coating areas at the new site, and will spend at least $20 million more over the next two years. By fall of 2001, the company will begin construction of a $9 million Quad and Hex Pipe Welding area, which will utilize technology supplied by Bauhuis International BV (The Netherlands). Bauhuis International BV will provide design-build services. A $7 million pipe-coating line addition and two or three batch concrete plants at the complex are also being planned.

The new 500-employee plant site serves the growing offshore deepwater oil & gas market. This plant replaced their smaller plant located in Harvey, La. that closed in March of 2001. New docking facilities, currently under construction and slated to be completed in July, will be capable of loading product onto the largest ocean-going vessels.

Bredero Price Company, headquartered in Houston, Texas is part of the Bredero Shaw Group, a joint venture between Haliburton Company (Dallas, Texas) and ShawCor Limited (Toronto, Ontario). The Bredero Shaw Group is known worldwide as the largest pipe-coating services company, serving the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas Industry, with 27 permanent plants located on six continents.
