China Huadian's Chenzhou Baishidu Windfarm Receives Preliminary Approval

Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Hunan Huadian Chenzhou Wind Power Company Limited's (Chenzhou, Hunan) Chenzhou Baishidu Windfarm received the notice of consent to begin pre-stage preparation from the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan province on November 21.
Chenzhou Baishidu Windfarm is located in Baishidu Town of Yizhang County in South Hunan's Chenzhou City, which is rich in wind energy resources and is suitable for the construction of a large-scale windfarm. The project is also the third wind farm developed by Huadian Chenzhou Wind Power Company.
According to the preliminary approval, the project will be furnished with 33 wind turbines, each with a generating capacity of 1.5 megawatts (MW). The project requires a total investment of about $68 millions. Total installed capacity of the project will be 49.5 MW. Construction of the project is conform to the nation's industrial policy and the local energy development plan, which will have an important meaning in promoting the swift economic development of the region as well as the development of China Huadian's new energy business in Hunan province, said Huadian New Energy Development Company in its announcement.
Huadian Chenzhou Wind Power Company is established by China Huadian New Energy Development Company for Yangtianhu Wind Farm, the first wind farm project developed by China Huadian Corporation in 2009. Phase I 36.3 MW of Yangtianhu Wind Farm was commissioned in later 2010. The company was then managed by China Huadian Corporation Hunan Branch Company (Changsha, Hunan) under the mandate of Huadian New Energy Development Company. The 49.5-MW Phase II also received approval in September 2011 and is currently under construction.
According to the schedule, the Baishidu Windfarm will kick off construction in the first half of 2012 and be put into operation by the end of 2012.
