Energy Transfer Company (Dallas Texas) will extend its Katy natural gas pipeline system by constructing a new 70-mile segment from Limestone, Texas to the Katy hub area in Grimes County. The 30" diameter pipeline (PEC 01009517) will have an initial capacity of 650 mmscfd of natural gas and be expandable to 1 Bcf/d. Initial construction will not include any compression facilities.
Energy Transfer Company awarded the engineering & project management contract to Universal Ensco Incorporated (Tulsa Okalahoma) and expects to receive its final FERC certificate and begin construction on the $60 million pipeline in early 2004 with a mid-2004 completion timeline.
Energy Transfer Company is a privately held company and owns & operates 4,500-miles of natural gas gathering and transmission pipeline including the Oasis Pipeline consisting of over 600-miles of predominantly 36" diameter pipeline linking the Waha region with the Katy hub in Texas with a capacity of more than 1 Bcf/d.
