Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Agropur Cooperative (Longueuil, Quebec), Canada's largest dairy co-operative, has begun construction on a $55 million expansion at a cheese production plant in Weyauwega, Wisconsin.
The project calls for enlarging the 180,000-square-foot plant by adding a 60,000-square-foot building and installing a new cheese production line. The project is on schedule to be completed by the end of the year.
Project participants include Excel Engineering (Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin); Miron Construction (Neenah, Wisconsin); ALPMA USA LLC (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), a subsidiary of ALPMA (Munich, Germany); Faith Technologies (Menasha, Wisconsin); and Bassett Mechanical (Kaukauna, Wisconsin).
The Weyauwega project is one of more than 75 active capital Food & Beverage Industry projects in Wisconsin. Projects range in investment value from $1 million to $60 million, and have a combined total worth of more than $800 million. Wisconsin is part of the Great Lakes market region, which has more than 460 projects worth more than $5.6 billion.
