NATURAL GAS
ExxonMobil Sees Natural Gas Demand Surging in Outlook to 2050 - Global demand for natural gas will rise more than 20% by 2050 from last year's level, as it displaces coal to power industries and meet higher electricity use in developing countries, Exxon Mobil Corporation (Spring, Texas) said last week in an annual outlook. Global oil demand will plateau after 2030 but remain above 100 million barrels per day (BBL/d) through 2050, Exxon projected, consistent with its previous outlook. Oil and natural gas will account for 55% of the global energy mix in 25 years' time, down 1 percentage point from 2024 levels, the company said. (Reuters)
LNG
Venture Global May Soon to Produce LNG from All Blocks at Plaquemines Plant - Venture Global LNG (Arlington, Virginia) could soon be producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from all blocks at its 27.2 million-metric-ton-per-annum Plaquemines facility, regulatory filings show. The company received permission on Friday to introduce nitrogen at Block 15, a precursory step toward LNG production, according to an order from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The regulator's move followed a Wednesday authorization to introduce natural gas at Block 18.
