Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The first unit of Huadian Dandong Jinshan Thermal Power Company Limited's (Dandong, Liaoning) Jinshan Thermal Power Plant was connected to the grid on August 17, 2012. The unit has completed 17 of 18 milestone nodes in its construction and is ready for the 168-hour, full-load trial operation soon, according to an announcement from China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) on August 21, 2012.
During the grid connection, the project owner, together with China Huadian Electric Research Institute (Hangzhou, Zhejiang) and related parties involved in the construction, worked out the startup procedures for Unit 1 of Dandong Jinshan Power Plant, as well as the associated work plan and the startup organization commission. Under the united deployment of the startup organization commission, various works are performed smoothly.
The Dandong Jinshan Power Plant, located in Tongxing Town, Dandong City, in the northeast old industrial base of China, has a total planned capacity of four 300-megawatt (MW) units. Two 300-MW, subcritical, coal-fired units, together with associated heat supply pipeline works, will be built in Phase I. The project is invested by Shenyang Jinshan Energy Company Limited (Shenyang, Liaoning), a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation. Liaoning Electric Power Design Institute (Shenyang, Liaoning) is responsible for the design and engineering of the project.
Early in August 2008, the project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission. The project originally planned to kick off construction in September 2009 and begin operations in May 2011. Due to the delay in financing and the impact of the market situation, construction of the project was slightly delayed.
On November 18, 2009, the construction kick-off ceremony for the project was held in Dandong. On July 11, 2012, the No. 1 boiler was ignited. Pipeline flushing for the boiler was completed on July 20, 2012. According to the schedule, Unit 1 will complete a 168-hour trial operation and be put into commercial operation at the beginning of September 2012.
