France Approves US$2.6 Billion in T&D Upgrades

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The French Energy Regulatory Commission (Paris) has approved a 2.28 billion-euro (US$2.6 billion) investment in RTE, France's Transmission System Operator, for 2024. This represents a 10% increase from 2023's expenditure.

RTE has earmarked US$715 million the renewal of its existing transmission and distribution (T&D) network and US$491 million to strengthen its infrastructure. In addition, US$258 million has been set aside for offshore windfarms and US$257 million to connect T&D capacity with neighboring countries.
