Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Privately held and family-owned and operated Glazers Family of Companies (Dallas, Texas) is planning to build a new wine and spirits distribution center in Saint Charles, Missouri.
Glazers selected a 13-acre site on Mueller Road, on the north side of Saint Joseph as the location for the new distribution center.
Plans call for the construction of a new 254,458 square-foot building with office space, warehousing area plus multiple shipping and receiving docks to support the distribution of wine and spirits to regional customers. The facility will be outfitted with multiple bays of storage racking, inventory control system and climate controlled warehousing.
The company selected Kadean Construction Company (Fenton, Missouri) as the general contractor for this estimated $26 million project and the construction kickoff date is scheduled for March 20, 2006. Construction is expected to take about twelve months to complete and the relocation and move is scheduled for April of 2007.
The Glazer family began the distribution business in 1909 when Bessie and Louis Glazer settled in Dallas after moving from Chicago. Their children, Max and Nolan Glazer, established Glazer's Distributors as the company is known today. They operate 41 distribution centers throughout the U.S. with facilities located in Arizona, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma and Texas and have partnerships with various other distributors in the Midwest.
