Gonnella Wrapping up $34 Million Frozen Dough Expansion Project in Pennsylvania

Last September, family-owned and operated Gonnella Baking Company (Chicago, Illinois) and wholly-owned subsidiary Gonnella Frozen Products, Incorporated (Schaumburg, Illinois) broke ground on the site of the company’s newest manufacturing plant. Located on a 17-acre site at the Humboldt Industrial Park in Hazle Township, Pennsylvania, construction on the new plant is nearly 60% complete and on schedule for startup in July. Once operational, the new 100,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution center will produce and warehouse frozen bread dough, which will be distributed to bakeries and customers in the food service industry, primarily to East Coast markets.

Food Tech Structures (Hanover, Massachusetts) is the primary contractor with design-build responsibilities along with Alta Refrigeration, Incorporated (Peachtree City, Georgia) with design-build responsibility for the refrigeration portion of the project.
