Granules India to Offload Stake in Omnichem JV, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Indian pharmaceuticals manufacturer Granules India Limited has announced its intention to divest its entire equity holding in Granules OmniChem Private Limited (GOC) by selling its stake to its joint venture partner- SA Ajinomoto Omnichem NV. The 50:50-joint venture company - GOC, which was floated in July 2011, has its manufacturing facility for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) located at Visakhapatnam, in India's eastern coastal state of Andhra Pradesh. "The proposed divestment of our 50% stake in the joint venture aligns with our focus on strengthening our core area of business" Granules India said in a regulatory filing.
