Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Thatcher Company (Salt Lake City, Utah), a privately held company, plans to construct a grassroot production plant in Buckeye, Arizona this year. Original plans for construction of this new plant were reported by Industrialinfo.com in March of 2002 and since then plans for beginning construction have been slowed or delayed on several occasions as Thatcher has cautiously monitored the markets ability to support the new production capacity.
The building will be approximately 12,000 square feet and be made of both precast concrete tilt walls and prefabricated steel. A new railroad spur will have to be constructed and secondary containment areas as well for process equipment that will be erected outdoors. The property for this site was acquired in the summer of last year.
Thatcher proposes to produce sanitizing and cleaning chemicals at the Buckeye site in an effort to provide its products locally and regionally to a market they already cover and eliminate some distribution costs.
