Grassroot Natural Glycerine Refinery Planned for Iowa

Natural Nutrients USA, LLC (Houston, Texas) plans to build a $10 million natural glycerine refinery in Corning, Iowa in the Bluegrass Industrial Park in Adams County. Natural Nutrients plans to use its own proprietary process to produce natural value added feed supplements and natural organic products such as glycerine from renewable agricultural resources to serve the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries.

Natural Nutrients USA, LLC is an affiliate of the company Natural Chem Group, LLC, a privately held company also located in Houston. The plant will occupy a 16,000 square foot building and will include a glycerine purification evaporation unit and a steam boiler. Oakview Construction Company (Red Oak, Iowa) and Howard R Green Company (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) are providing the engineering and support services for the project. Construction is slated to begin in October 2003, with completion of the new plant scheduled for late 2004.

Natural Chem Group is also planning to construct facilities in Minnesota, New Mexico, Indiana, and Illinois. These additional plant sites will be considered for construction after the Corning, Iowa facility is completed.
