India's Andhra Pradesh Launches US$119 Billion Renewable Energy Plan

The state aspires to become a hub for clean-energy development and energy exports.

Andhra Pradesh is offering a range of incentives, such as capital subsidies, concessional land leases, and streamlined approvals to attract investors. The plan, spanning five years up to 2029, seeks to develop 160 gigawatts (GW) of renewable-energy capacity, including 78.5 GW of solar, 35 GW of wind and 22 GW of pumped storage, alongside emerging technologies such as offshore wind, geothermal and green hydrogen.
