Researched by Industrial Info Research Latin America (Córdoba, Argentina)--The 4th edition of Expomina, one of the most important mining events in the Latin American region, will begin Wednesday, September 12, in Lima, Peru's capital city. More than 800 exhibitors from the region and the world will have the opportunity to meet a wide range of mining companies, as well as equipment and service providers, at the most important growth potential event in Peru.

According to Expomina President Juan Jose Herrera, this event is an excellent opportunity to show the development of new mining projects and the growth potential in the production of minerals and equipment supply. Industrial Info is exhibiting in Booth B-145 in the International Pavilion, with other American, Australian, Canadian, Chinese and German companies that are currently working or intending to do business in the Latin American mining market. Expomina's previous edition in 2010 featured 600 exhibitors and 28,000 visitors; business opportunities totaling more than $120 million were closed after the event.

Peru is a pro-mining country with the most important number of projects under development in South America. It has more than 48 outstanding capital projects worth $53.5 billion, from which almost 50% are in an exploration phase, while 35% have the Environmental Impact Study approved by national authorities. Peru is the world's number one silver producer and is the second-largest producer of copper and zinc.

Industrial Info is tracking 164 capital and maintenance projects in the metals and minerals industry in Peru worth $71 billion, and 1,015 projects in Latin America representing investments of $430.1 billion.
