Interstate Warehousing Begins Construction on Tenth Cold Storage Warehouse in Tennessee

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Family owned Interstate Warehousing, Incorporated (Fort Wayne, Indiana), a part of Tippmann Group (Fort Wayne, Indiana), has begun construction on the company’s tenth cold storage warehouse in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Currently at the site, located near Interstate 24 and Joe B. Jackson Parkway, footings are being installed and concrete is being poured for the foundation of a planned 162,000 square-foot public refrigerated warehouse. The warehouse is being designed to serve the surrounding Nashville, Tennessee market and will offer convenient distribution opportunities to several major cities in the South and Midwest.

Structural steel is expected to begin going up as early as next week and the project is on a fast-track construction schedule and expected to be ready for occupancy by mid-April of 2006.

Tippmann Construction, Incorporated, the construction division of Tippmann Group, will act as the general contractor for this estimated $10 million project and the contractor is currently taking bids for various construction trade subcontractors to build the facility.

The warehouse will be outfitted with a warehouse operating system that includes a state-of-the-art racking system, automated material handling equipment, climate controlled storage and monitoring and a 7,600 square-foot office with multiple shipping and receiving docks.

Once complete, the company plans to hire 37 employees to operate the facility and future expansion could grow employment numbers at the site to over 100 as business grows.

The Murfreesboro site will be the tenth facility to be built by the company that currently operates cold storage warehouses in Grand Junction and Denver, Colorado; Cincinnati, Ohio; Joliet, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Indianapolis and Franklin, Indiana; Newport News, Virginia and Nashville, Tennessee.
