Invenergy LLC Begins Construction of $165 Million Windfarm Project in Ontario

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Invenergy LLC (Chicago, Illinois) has begun construction of the $165 million, 83-megawatt (MW) Raleigh Wind Energy Centre near Dorion, in Ontario, Canada.

Construction of the project began this fall and is scheduled to be completed and ready for full commercial operation by the spring of 2010. The project will consist of constructing 55 GE Energy 1.5-MW sle model wind turbine generators near both Raleigh and Tilbury township. Once operational, the power generated by the facility will be sold to Ontario Power Authority. GE Energy is a division of General Electric (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut).

Graham Construction Company (Calgary, Alberta) will provide the turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction services throughout the duration of the construction for the project.
