Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Invenergy LLC (Chicago, Illinois) has completed construction and begun commercial operation of the estimated $230 million, 101-megawatt (MW) Beech Ridge Windfarm near Williamsburg, West Virginia.
Construction on the project began in April 2009 and was completed earlier this spring. Commissioning for the new facility began in May. The Beech Ridge project consisted of constructing 67 GE Energy 1.5-MW sle model wind turbine generators in Greenbrier County, between Williamsburg and Rupert, West Virginia. Invenergy currently has 57 of the 67 turbines commissioned and operational.
White Construction Incorporated (Clinton, Indiana) provided the turnkey engineering, procurement and construction services for the duration of the project.
