Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Jordan is a key chemical-manufacturing country in the Middle East region, especially for products associated with phosphate. It is considered one of the top exporters of phosphate-based products like phosphoric acid and di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) fertilizers, among others.
Phosphate formation covers roughly 60% of the country's total area. To maximize the abundant phosphate, Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC), which is the leading chemical manufacturer in the country, has recently signed many agreements with various partners to set up facilities to produce phosphate products. Moreover, the country is also exploring green hydrogen/ammonia production and recently signed a couple of memoranda of understanding (MOU) to establish related facilities.
