Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Mesquite Creek Wind LLC, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation of America, is on schedule to build a 200-megawatt (MW) windfarm this year on 2,500 acres in Lamesa, Texas.
Officials said they are working with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor Blattner Energy Incorporated (Avon, Minnesota) to construct the windfarm, utilizing 1.7-MW General Electric (NYSE:GE) (Fairfield, Connecticut) wind turbines.
Sumitomo partnered with BNB Renewable Energy Holdings LLC (New York City, New York) to finance the facility. Mesquite Creek Windfarm will supply power to the grid for businesses in Dawson County, and will be in commercial operation by mid-2015.
