Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--With debris still in the streets from Helene, Florida is bracing for a second hurricane in as many weeks, with Milton bearing down on Tampa.
Industrial Info will be monitoring many natural gas- and coal-fired power plants on the western central coast, including:
- Anclote 1,113 megawatts (MW)
- Fort Myers 2,672 MW
- Big Bend 1,875 MW
- Polk 1,602 MW
- Bayside 2,294 MW
- Bartow 1,475 MW
This area of Florida also has a high density of small solar farms that might be impacted by the storm. The 2,000-megawatt St. Lucie Nuclear Power Station on the east coast may even be in the path on the backside of the storm as it exits into the Atlantic. This could delay the plant's Unit 2 refueling project currently underway.
US Power Outages is reporting much of the Helene damage to the power grid has been restored in Florida with preparations now happening for a Milton response.
