EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT) (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), the largest U.S. natural gas producer, is looking to wrap up phases of its Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) at the end of the year. The MVP project, which is expected to begin service next year, is a 303-mile pipeline system that will run from West Virginia to Virginia and carry natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shales. Among the phases to be completed in December are a 104-mile segment from Wetzel County, West Virginia, to Braxton County, West Virginia, and a 199-mile segment from Braxton County to Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
Three compressor stations in support of these two segments also will be completed in December: a $120 million station near New Martinsville; a $75 million station in Flatwoods; and a $75 million station in Meadow Bridge.
