A contract covering studies and engineering work on the expansion of the Mohammedia refinery in Morroco has been awarded to Foster Wheeler by the owners of the refinery Societe Anonyme de l'industrie du Raffinage (SAMIR).

On completion of this $500 million expansion project, which is targeted for the end of 2004, the refinery's petrol production potential will have been increased by 50% and diesel production by 100%.
