National Clean Fuels to Build Biomass Power Station in Corinth, Mississippi

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held National Clean Fuels Incorporated (NCF) (Houston, Texas) (formerly National Wind Solutions) has plans for a biomass power generation station in Corinth, Mississippi. NCF is planning to begin construction on its 10-megawatt (MW) biomass power plant about the middle of next year.

Since the station is still in the planning and permitting stages, no general contractor has been selected at this time. NCF will invest $15 million to convert wood chips and gasified sawdust into a biogas to power the electrical generator.

This is the second biomass power generation station slated for Mississippi. FibroMiss LLC (Langhorne, Pennsylvania) has a 40-MW plant planned for Magee, Mississippi, but construction is not scheduled to begin until 2013 and will use poultry and wood waste feedstocks.

The power facility will be in the northern Mississippi city of Corinth, in Alcorn County.
