Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated Houston, Texas). Privately held family-owned and operated New Belgium Brewing Company, Incorporated (Fort Collins, Colorado), brewers of Fat Tire and Abbey ales, is putting the final design touches on a major expansion plan for its Fort Collins, Colorado brewery. The plans call for a 76,000 square-foot building addition at the 365,000 barrels per year brewery that will add room for a new high-speed bottling and packaging line, cold and dry warehouse space, as well as a new shipping dock.
The New Belgium Brewing Company traces its origin to a bike ride through Belgium that inspired the company's founder Jeff Lebesch. That jaunt is remembered with the company's Fat Tire ale. The regional brewery's other beers go by names like Sunshine, Loft, and Blue Paddle. New Belgium brews are available in fifteen states in the western U.S. New Belgium Brewing is considered one of the fastest growing craft brewers in the U.S. and expects to sell more than 350,000 barrels of beer in 2005.
