Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). After seriously considering Kentucky as the site for a new medical testing laboratory, LabOne, Incorporated (Lenexa Kansa) has decided to expand in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company will invest $21 million in the new facility. (PEC 10003153)
LabOne's offerings include diagnostic laboratory healthcare services for insurance purposes as well as providing drug testing services and related products to employers. Earlier this year, the company purchased the Health Alliance Laboratory of Cincinnati, creating a new subsidiary, LabAlliance, Incorporated.
A strong incentive package helped Ohio emerge as the chosen site, including such draws as a $3.3 million Job Creation Tax Credit and financing of up to $9.4 million through the Direct Loan and Enterprise Zone. Further credits for the purchase of equipment are promised if LabOne decides to locate any research and development activities at the site.
LabOne expects to start construction of the facility later this year. Over the next several years, the company anticipates creating 400 new jobs at the site.
