Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Pacific Chemical Corporation (Vancouver, Washington), formally Stanford Chemical Company, Incorporated plans to build a new fertilizer plant at the Port of Morrow in Boardman, Oregon. The plant will produce Ammonia, Nitric Acid, and approximately 408,000 ton per year of urea used for fertilizer production.
Construction is slated to begin in roughly one year once final permits are obtained, which were filed late July by the Department of Environmental Quality. The plant will take over two years to construct.
Monsanto Enviro-Chem Systems, Incorporated (Saint Louis, Missouri) has been awarded the contract to provide technology and general contracting services for the estimated $250 million project. Pacific Chemical Company is also working with Makad Corporation (Vancouver, Washington) who will develop, manage and provide civil construction services for the project.
The chemical company changed its name from Stanford Chemical Company to Pacific Chemical Corporation due to similarities with Stanford University name.
This new state of the art plant will be the first one of its kind in the United States and the largest urea fertilizer plant in the Pacific Northwest, making this location a prime spot to build. This new location will enable fertilizer to be provided at lower costs than currently relying on distant U.S locations or foreign producers.
