Petroperú Expands Petroleum Terminal Capacity

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Petroperú has announced that it will increase the capacity of the compan's Bayovar Terminal from 2 million to 10 million barrels.

The maritime terminal is located approximately 940 kilometers from Lima, Peru, and is used to store crude oil and refined products. The terminal can receive ships that transport up to 1.5 million barrels of petroleum products.

The terminal currently has a storage capacity of 2 million barrels, but will expand to hold up to 10 million barrels with an investment of $200 million. The project will make Bayovar an affordable and safe alternative for the ships that come from the Persian Gulf and Asia through the Malaca Strait.

Both Petroperú and the Peruvian government expect Bayovar to become one of the main ports for petroleum delivery and distribution on the Pacific coast.
