Pursell Technologies Finalizes Plans To Construct New Polymer Coatings Plant Pending Final Permits

Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Pursell Technologies Incorporated (Sylacauga, Alabama) is planning to construct another polymer coatings plant in Sylacauga, Alabama once final permits are obtained (Plant 1061784). The plant will be located at the textile plant, formally known as the Russell Mills that was purchased by Pursell in 2003. An existing 137,000 square foot building is currently being used for storage and civil construction has begun to construct a second building. The second building will also be used for storage until they get government approval to operate the production plant on this site (PEC 04002673). The total investment value for the new plant is estimated at $4.5 million. Once complete, this new plant will double Pursell's polymer coatings production capacity.

Pursell Technologies is a family owned company and even after a hundred years in business still continues to operate as one. The world's largest producer of polymer coated fertilizers under the polyon® name, Pursell has three production plants all of which consider Sylacauga, Alabama home. The polyon® product has a durable ultra-thin polyurethane coating, prompting the release of nutrients at just the right time, making it a perfect product choice for golf courses, landscapers and plant nursery's.

Although this will only be the third expansion that Pursell has seen in the past twelve years a new trend may be starting, with opportunities on the horizon to add another new production plant in the not so distant future.
