Sysco Completes $50 Million Tennessee Food Distribution Center

Reported by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) (Houston, Texas), a leading distributor of food-service products, has completed construction of a refrigerated distribution center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Operating under Sysco Food Services of Knoxville LLC, the new entity will initially employ more than 250 people when operations start next month.

Site work on the 44 acres began last spring and involved the construction of a 353,000-square-foot building with dry, cooler and freezer storages, as well as a refrigerated dock. Sysco retained the services of BE&K Building Group (Greenville, South-Carolina) as the design-build firm. Teachey Mechanical Incorporated (Simpsonville, South Carolina) was selected to provide mechanical services.
