Teksid Sylacauga Expanding Again - Third Expansion the Lucky Key
This expansion marks the third time in less than four years that Teksid has had the need to expand

Teksid Aluminum Components of Sylacauga, Alabama, a division of Teksid Aluminum North America Incorporated (Plymouth, Michigan), a subsidiary of TK Aluminum Limited (Carmagnola, Italy) has recently begun construction on a $4 million, 50,000 square foot expansion of its engine block production operations. The new addition, contiguous to the nearly-completed plant (announced in 2003) in which Teksid plans to make cylinder blocks for Hyundai beginning in 2005, will produce 235,000 V6 Duratec engine blocks for Ford sedans and crossover vehicles (XUVs) by 2007.
Construction on the expansion project began in late October and is expected to be completed in June 2005. Gaston Construction of Sylacauga was chosen as constructor.
