Shell Sarnia, in September, will begin 30 days of planned maintenance on four units at its 71,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Sarnia Refinery in Ontario, Canada.

Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) remains on schedule to resume full throughput of the 110,000-BBL/d Atmospheric Residue Desulfurization (ARDS) 2 Unit at its 615,000-BBL/d Mina Al Zour Refinery in Kuwait, by February 15. The unit remains derated by 40 percent due to minor repair works. All other units continue to operate at normal throughput.

Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) delayed the restart of the 22,600-BBL/d hydrofluoric alkylation unit, 120,000-BBL/d Vacuum Gas Oil Hydrotreater (VGO Hydrotreater) Unit and 92,000-BBL/d High-Olefin Fluid Catalytic Cracker (HOFCC) Unit at its 400,000-BBL/d Rabigh Refinery in Saudi Arabia due to additional repairs needed. The units now are expected to be back online on February 13. As a result, four other units, which are derated by 30% (since January 29), now are expected to resume normal operations by February 13.

ENAP Refinerias SA, on February 3, was forced to shut down its 100,000-BBLd Aconcagua Refinery in Chile, due to a forest fire that caused a loss of power to the refinery. The restart date is unknown at this time, but Industrial Info is monitoring the situation and will issue an update when more information becomes available.
