YPFB Logistica S.A. Performs FEED for Two Refined Products Storage Terminals

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--YPFB Logistica S.A. is developing initial studies for the construction of two storage plants in Bolivia, including an alternative for the existing Senkata Plant (La Paz, Bolivia) that will increase refined products storage to 3,000 cubic meters of diesel and 3,000 cubic meters of gasoline in the region.

The Montero Storage plant (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), also known as PMONT, will be located in Montero, Santa Cruz, which is a strategic location because it is near railways and routes that will connect the facility to different points in the country and Argentina. This plant is to be operational in 2016 and will have five tanks, three to store diesel oil and two to store 1,500 cubic meters each of gasoline.

YPFB Logistica S.A. (Santa Cruz) operates six refined product pipelines in Bolivia, a total of 1449 kilometers of distribution net. The company also is in charge of 16 storage terminals, most of them working since the 1950s. YPFB Logistica recently presented its 2012-16 investment strategic plan, which includes upgrades and new units in pump station installations, loops, expansions in existing terminals, and two new refined products terminals for reception, storage and distribution in Santa Cruz and La Paz.

The basic engineering of these two projects it is being developed by YPFB Logistica S.A. and already has received some approvals from YPFB Casa Matriz to continue with studies.

Due to this storage increase, YPFB Logistica plans to improve its refined products distribution and transmission network through major maintenance programs and new pipelines.
