E.ON Fires Up U.K. Biomass Plant

GALWAY, IRELAND--July 7, 2014 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) E.ON UK has started generating power at its third U.K. biomass plant, the Blackburn Meadows biomass facility in Sheffield.

The company, which is part of German energy major E.ON AG (OTC:EONGY) (Dusseldorf, Germany), said the facility generated electricity and synchronised with the local distribution network for the first time last week.
