Renewable Energy Sets New U.K. Record

GALWAY, IRELAND--April 7, 2015 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) Renewable energy growth surged by 20% in 2014 to supply almost a fifth of the U.K.'s electricity needs while coal-fired generation continued to decrease.

The latest figures from the U.K. government showed that renewable electricity generation stood at 64.4 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2014, an increase of 20% the 53.7 TWh in 2013, with bioenergy up by 24% and wind generation up 11%.
