Atlantic Season's First Potential Hurricane Nears Caribbean, a Weather Impact Update

Atlantic Season

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warns Tropical Storm Bret could become the first hurricane of the 2023 Atlantic season. Currently brewing in the Central Atlantic with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph, Bret could become a Category 1 hurricane as it moves toward populated Caribbean islands, with landfall expected Thursday.

NHC, the Weather Channel and other forecasters say it is too early to predict how far west any hurricane would be sustained, but they expect it will intensify over the coming days and deliver heavy rain, if not worse, to islands in its path.
