Chilean Miner Codelco Reports 9.6% Drop in Q1 Copper Output

May 1, 2024--Written by Amir Richani for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Codelco (Santiago, Chile), Chile's largest copper miner, produced 294,773 tons of copper in the first three months of this year, about 9.6% less than during the same period in 2023. However, these numbers are in line with the company's plans, Codelco said in a statement. Including El Abra and Anglo American Sur's output, the company produced 319,000 tons of copper. Codelco owns a minority stake in both operations.
