German Offshore Windfarm gets €450 Million Windfall

GALWAY, IRELAND--February 18, 2013 --Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) One of the largest offshore windfarms planned for the German North Sea will get underway early next year thanks to a €450 million ($601 million) windfall from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The Butendiek windfarm will be constructed 53 kilometers (km) off the coast of Schleswig-Holstein and 32km to the west of the island of Sylt. Boasting 80 turbines it will have a total generating capacity of 288-megawatts (MW).
